Temporary Layoff at Casino du Lac Leamy by Loto-Quebec Hit 775 Employees

Quite a few disappointed casino employees are out looking for work, having been laid off at Casino du Lac Leamy. Loto-Quebec made the necessary decision given the closure of the Gatineau venue. Who knows how long it will last so the layoffs are temporary?

It happened in response to the red alert for the area (and part of the Outaouais region) mandated by the Quebec government.

Restrictions on business have been expanded, including indoor dining and casino patronage.

The layoffs are a bit surprising in that Casino du Lac-Leamy had reopened in late July with health guidelines. It had it all under control with reduced hours and a limit of 250 people in each of three casino zones.
