It is not news anyone wants to hear in Canada, but public officials in Manitoba have confirmed more cases and two deaths – both in Winnipeg. The Winnipeg region has had the highest number of active cases at 1,436.
The death toll has reached forty and new cases top forty-four. To date, the total in the province since March is 3,302. New restrictions include the closing of casinos and the limit to a group congregation, effective immediately.
Twenty-nine people are currently in hospital due to the virus, with six in intensive care. To keep things on track, 224,885 tests have been administered since early February. The five-day test positivity rate dropped a bit to 4.7 percent.
To track the cases region by regions, the results are as follows: nine cases in the Interlake–Eastern health region, two cases in the Northern health region, two case in the Prairie Mountain Health region, six cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region and twenty-five cases in the Winnipeg health region.
