Canadian gaming is a major economic booster. After all it supports over 180,000 jobs and provides massive entertainment. It is a consumer of goods and services, thereby contributing $18.9 billion of value-added GDP to the Canadian economy each year.
Within this context, we see the importance of an agreement between Victoria Square Technologies, Inc. and the Canadian Gaming Association. The national trade association represents supplier and operators in the casino and gaming industries.
Of particular interest is the proposal by Victoria Square Health for the Safetest Covid-19 Rapid Test, including sales and distribution. This means that Victoria Square will help the hospitality industry to ensure the health and safety of customers and employees.
The goal is to open up gaming venues that normally clock over fifty million visits annually. Each property would be able to access a cost-effective test for the virus subject to Health Canada approval.
Victory Square Health intends to assist by partnering with the Canadian Police Association and related members across the country. Its mission has been since inception in 2016 to offer personalized medicine and technology solutions such as diagnostic tests. It has the expertise to develop antibody-based tests.
In the words of Paul Burns, President and CEO of the Canadian Gaming Association, “we are very pleased to engage with Victory Square Health.”
“Providing access to rapid testing, like the Safetest Rapid Test product,
is one of the most important tools to reopen our economy and allow for
greater confidence in increasing capacities across the hospitality industry.”
According to Shafin D. Tejani, CEO of Victory Square,
“I am delighted with this important agreement so Victory Square Health may realize its goal of commencing distribution of its exclusive Rapid Test kits on a national scale,”
Anything that can revive the entertainment industry is welcome. It has been devastated by the pandemic. Victory Square can be instrumental in providing a new testing service so everyone can get back to work and help grow the economy.
