The Saskatchewan Health Authority is on the alert for sites across the province. They fear the public may have been exposed to the dreaded COVID-19 which seems to be spiking in certain areas of Canada.
The exposure goes back to late October. It includes multiple Regina businesses. The SHA is issuing a warning by publishing the list to date on radio Canada.
Outbreaks of concern are reported at Holy Family School, Rehoboth Elder Care (personal care home) and Edwards Manor (group home) in Saskatoon. Outbreaks were also seen at SaskEnergy in Regina and at Indian Head Bakery in Indian Head.
No doubt, some people who tested positive for COVID-19 were frequenting various businesses in several communities. The recent alerts from the SHA are for Estevan, Fort Qu’Appelle, Indian Head, Ituna, Lloydminster, Meadow Lake, North Battleford, Regina, Saskatoon, Weyburn and Yorkton. Specific addresses, dates and times are indicated.
More schools than before are reporting cases. In the province overall, cases have reached 190 with deaths at 29.
Some of the locations are Affinity Place, Robin’s Donuts, Benchmark Bar and Grill, Northside Sales and Service, Gold Horse Casino, Determined Boot Camp, Real Canadian Superstore, and Mr. Bill’s Family Restaurant/
Also on the list are Safeway, Servus Spots Center, 4th Meridian Brewing Company, May Cinema 6 Theatre, Dollar Tree, Boston Pizza, and Walmart Supercentre.
In November, Mark’s Work Wearhouse was added along with Meadow Lake Co-op grocery store, Sobeys, Beaver Motor Hotel, 1102 100 St., No Frills, and H&M, Cornwall Centre. Exposure is suspected at Shoppers Drug Mart, Birmingham’s Vodka and Ale House, Costco Wholesale, Party City, Regina Halal Meat, Regina Wholesale, Toys R Us, and Landmark Cinema.
Various locations for Regina Transit are on the list. Other points of exposure are Southland Mall, Mike’s Your Independent Grocer, Moxie’s Grill and Bar, Starbucks in Cathedral Safeway, Evolution Fitness, McDonald’s, Staples, Westside Mosque, Country Inn and Suites by Radisson, Humpty’s Family Restaurant, Meidl Honda, Point Fitness Club, 1, Warman Legends Centre, Dublin’s Irish Pub and Grill, North Mile Restaurant and Pub, University of Saskatchewan, PAC Fitness Centre, Local Barre Fitness, Popeyes Chicken, 150 Kensington Blvd. Purolator Courier, Grainfields, Circle Dr. location, Second Cup, and Stoked Centre at Wilson’s Lifestyle Centre.
Schroh Arena, Crescent Point Place, and Canadian Tire complete the new list.
The health authority advises anyone at these locations to immediately self-isolate if they have had, or currently have, coronavirus symptoms. They can call HealthLine 811 to book a test.
