The Ontario provincial government has decreed that all non-essential businesses across the province, such as casinos, will be required to close.
Great Canadian Gaming Corporation will therefore temporarily cease gaming operations at Shorelines Casino Thousand Islands, Shorelines Casino Belleville, Shorelines Casino Peterborough, and Shorelines Slots at Kawartha Downs.
These four properties are the last of the company’s twelve in Ontario that have been able to remain open. Great Canadian Gaming is committed to social responsibility, particularly during the pandemic for all its entertainment and hospitality venues.
With this new suspension of Great Canadian’s Ontario operations, the only two currently open are Casino New Brunswick at 25% of its pre-closure capacity, and Casino Nova Scotia Sydney at 20% of pre-closure capacity.
Emergency health orders are mandated in all casino facilities. It certainly fits in with their motto: “PROUD of our people, our business, our community.”
