Spread the Local Love Campaign from BCLC Takes Flight

British Columbia enjoys the support of the Lottery Corporation over thirty-four years. The BCLC has garnered kudos for participating in local community causes in the arena of healthcare and education, among others.

It has been donating a portion of its revenues and now it has launches the Spread the Local Love campaign. If you buy a lottery ticket, play in a land-based casino or on PlayNow.com, some of your money goes to local businesses and groups.
In addition, the same occurs when you purchase gift cards or placing silent bids on the Spread the Local Love page. It is an impressive project. Many charities are the recipients of BCLC’s largesse.

Among them are the Burnaby Hospital Foundation, Cariboo Memorial Hospital Foundation, Castlegar and District Community Services Society, Fort St. John Hospital Foundation, Greater Vancouver Food Bank, Kamloops Food Bank, Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation, SHARE Family & Community Services, Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, and Victoria Hospitals Foundation.

It is a great team effort to boost the economy. It had already launched the #SharpDressedSaturdayevent as an official sponsor that supported the Kamloops region.

The lottery’s efforts have been quite a success, collecting over CA$18,000 from generous donations. Meanwhile, the Crown Corporation teamed up with the familiar SHARE Family & Community Services.

Gambling addition is one of the great concerns of the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. They work with the Crown Corporation on existing gambling policies in the fight against addiction.

They seek a new solution and discussions have been held such as Banking on a Different Perspective: The Financial Industry’s Role in Safer Gambling.

Natalie Ledward, Vulnerability Manager at Monzo Bank Ltd, stated that her bank is working on supporting those who need help with the problem by promoting safer gambling measures.
